I’ve been getting errors like that lately on my work computer, which is some crusty old Dell Pentium M notebook with 512 MB of RAM. It’s painful to work on… my 12″ Powerbook G4 still outperforms it (unsurprisingly), and there’s just no comparison to my desktop box at home with a Core 2 Duo E6600 and 4GB of RAM. Unfortunately, we can’t use our own equipment (especially not Macs). We’re supposed to be getting upgrades soon, but that keeps getting deferred, and further deferred, and so on…. (–eupolis)

We’re on the same machine, I am sure. Dell Lattitude 610D I think. I’ve seen ATM machines out perform this thing; and since we’re in a corporate environment we keep getting security patches, upgraded encryption on the VPN etc etc that take up more and more of the tiny bit of RAM they give us. |
