I never saw the purpose in iChat AV.  It was a cute IM program, but there are thousands of IM programs out there.  It was already there and just worked, but it was a bit bloated and cutesy for me.  Yeah, I like the cuteness but when you rarely use IM sometimes iChat was just a bit much.  To tell you the truth I rarely use IM anymore.  Text messages and brief phone calls seem to work for my needs much more fluidly.

However today I got the chance to play with iChat AV.  Last nght Kate and I tried to use it and failed due to firewall issues I was unaware of which bothered me greatly.  So today I spent some time and fixed the issue.  I tested it out with a friend who is currently in France and was absolutely amazed at the high quality of the video and audio.  iChat AV has just earned its spot on my dock!

Today I finally took the plunge and upgraded to WordPress 2.5.  WordPress is the engine behind waxman.org, every page you see on this site is generated from WordPress.  The upgrade went amazingly well and the new features seem to be pretty amazing.  Almost everything is “behind the scenes” but should you notice anything not working well please let me know ASAP so I can fix it!

Interesante.

My friend, Liza, sent me this in an email and I had to try it. I’ve always thought Waxman was such a unique last name… I’ve never met anyone outside my family with it or even seen another person on a list for a conference, class, or anything, anywhere with it. Apparently there are 1,823 people in the U.S. with the last name Waxman.  Where are you all hiding?

So, Kate and I have always had a Christmas tree. I kind of like it in the house, makes the place feel very warm and cozy. Wish we had a fireplace to go with it, but that’s for the next house. We have some decorations on our tree that we purchased to match my personality and put some of me into the holiday. Well, this tree is 100% me:
