Getting quite sick of this phone. It died about a month or so ago and I got it replaced. It almost immediately started having some weird issues and is now toast. I have removed the battery, replaced the battery with another one and done all the usual attempts to fix it. While on a call it just “turned off”. See the video linked for how it responds when you try to turn it back on.

So it appears I am a bad blogger.  I have not posted anything of value or interest in quite some time.  I’d like to say I’ve been too busy and that so much has been going on that I just couldn’t find the time; but that’s a lie.  I just have been to lazy to write up a blog post about how absolutely little is going on in my life as of recently.  I guess you can thank me for not boring you?

So as I sit here writing this I have the World Series on, which is quite interesting because before I flipped through the channels and saw the “World Series on Fox” logo I didn’t even know it was happening.  Kate is hunched over her laptop working hard on a paper for her Wednesday night class and is not eager to finish it and move onto the loads of work for her Saturday class.

Saw my doctor about two weeks ago; all is good.  He is very happy with how far I’ve improved.

This is my first post from my new MacBook Pro!!!  I really don’t deserve to have this wonderful machine but by the grace of the Apple Refurb site, I was able to get a crazy good deal.  Thanks to Dave for finding the uber steal.  I just don’t know why anyone would buy a Windows machine when they could have an Apple.

Coming soon, photos of my life according to iSite.

Today I received my Hillsborough, NJ Township newsletter. While it is not the best publication I’ve ever read, it is a step in the right direction by the township to offer such a communication. The newsletter is always worth reading, well written and up-to-date with the current goings on in the township from a non-partisan point of view. Today a quote of the first article read.

Money Magazine has rated Hillsborough as one of the best places in the nation to live, ranking the Township 23rd in the Top 100.

After containing my shock I managed to click the link to the article on CNN’s Money site. The article only has a small blurb on the township with quick useless quips of history as well as our geographical relation to Princeton, NJ and New Brunswick, NJ; both major upcoming New Jersey locations of business. They also stated,

Today, the town’s many parks – including one with four baseball diamonds and three soccer fields – play host to activities for children and adults alike. Residents have waged legal battles to keep the area from being overdeveloped, and about half the township is open space or farmland. Highly-rated schools add to the attraction.

I always knew Kate and I felt more comfortable in Hillsborough since moving here due to its more rural living style than where we were when in Bridgewater. However we’ve never had to sacrifice anything as the town offers numerous restaurants, grocery stores, shopping and anything else you can desire.

While I am not ready to give up my dream of moving south, and by that I do not mean southern New Jersey but Delaware, Maryland or even parts of PA., I do have to admit I am taking a new look at this township Kate and I have called home for the last almost 2 years.

Hopefully this article if nothing else increases the cost of real estate in our area. Lord would I like to see our homes relative value jump through the roof. Time to start checking the New Jersey MLS site more often!

I just found out I like mustard.

I  never liked beans, fell out of love with peanut butter, and I especially hated mustard.  Now I am in love with all three.  How does that happen?

It all started with a Mexican salad I had with mom that had black beans in it.  To avoid irritating Mom, I didn’t send it back, and I choked down the beans and kept quiet.  The only problem was, I liked them!  Eek, how could I like these little black pills I had scoffed at my whole life?  Long story short, I had a Mexican black bean omelet for breakfast over the weekend and it was the best thing I’d had since Easter.

I can’t explain the mustard either.  It was like a light switch went off and I stopped being so angry when I’d order a sandwich without mustard only to find it peaking out between the bread and the lettuce.

Why fight it though right?  Maybe I should try mustard on my beans…

Kate and I went to our friends, the Finks, this weekend. They had an amazing party on Saturday and Kate and I had an amazing time with them and their friends. I got plenty of time to grill while there; not only on gas like normal but on Johns oh so awesome charcoal grill. Rock on! Yeah, was going to write more but I just don’t feel like it.

For the first time, in a long time, I have nothing really to complain about.  Life is going pretty well I feel.  I’ll break down recent events into smaller sections:

Health:
I’m not having any flare ups, pain or other horrible symptoms of Crohn’s Disease.  This is amazing as it is the first time in years I’m not flaring, in pain, without appetite or feeling constantly weak.  I have, since the surgery, gained 16.5 pounds.  I am now only 10.5 pounds from my goal weight.

Life:
Things have been going pretty good. Kate and I have been very busy doing all sorts of fun things.  On June 1st Kate and I went to Princeton, NJ for the afternoon.  It was our first real venture out to enjoy the day since my surgery and it went great.  We even got ice cream out!  I finally for the first time in months got to use my camera too!  We went to the Big Apple BBQ in New York City on Sunday the 10th.  I ate like an animal and had no adverse side effects; rock on!  Then on June 16th we left for Virgina Beach for a full week of fun in the sun!  I sure had a lot of fun, and a lot of sun!  We stayed in a beautiful beach house rental.  Kate’s Aunt Rose retired from the US Navy and got married on the beach on Sunday the 17th.  Unfortunately my camera died on vacation so there aren’t as many pictures as I’d like.  My father-in-law was gracious enough to let me use his Nikon D70 to take a few pictures during the vacation.  This weekend we’re going to see our good friends Rachel and John who are having a Pre-Fourth of July party as the Fourth is in the middle of the week this year … unfortunately I’ll have no photos from this event as my camera is non-functional.

Work:
While I was promised to take the lead on a major account I was denied that promotion.  While this upset me greatly at first my anger was quickly resolved when I discovered that we lost the account in question shortly after.  Now, while this makes me grateful that I didn’t take this on as my main job role I am also dismayed as this is yet another loss for my team and our future is even more in jeopardy than ever.  As of now I am nervous about my future and getting no answers from management; but I have no control over this so I can’t do much but be angry.

I guess that’s really it.  An overall very good update!  If only I had a camera and a better job!
