Today I received my Hillsborough, NJ Township newsletter. While it is not the best publication I’ve ever read, it is a step in the right direction by the township to offer such a communication. The newsletter is always worth reading, well written and up-to-date with the current goings on in the township from a non-partisan point of view. Today a quote of the first article read.
Money Magazine has rated Hillsborough as one of the best places in the nation to live, ranking the Township 23rd in the Top 100.
After containing my shock I managed to click the link to the article on CNN’s Money site. The article only has a small blurb on the township with quick useless quips of history as well as our geographical relation to Princeton, NJ and New Brunswick, NJ; both major upcoming New Jersey locations of business. They also stated,
Today, the town’s many parks – including one with four baseball diamonds and three soccer fields – play host to activities for children and adults alike. Residents have waged legal battles to keep the area from being overdeveloped, and about half the township is open space or farmland. Highly-rated schools add to the attraction.
I always knew Kate and I felt more comfortable in Hillsborough since moving here due to its more rural living style than where we were when in Bridgewater. However we’ve never had to sacrifice anything as the town offers numerous restaurants, grocery stores, shopping and anything else you can desire.
While I am not ready to give up my dream of moving south, and by that I do not mean southern New Jersey but Delaware, Maryland or even parts of PA., I do have to admit I am taking a new look at this township Kate and I have called home for the last almost 2 years.
Hopefully this article if nothing else increases the cost of real estate in our area. Lord would I like to see our homes relative value jump through the roof. Time to start checking the New Jersey MLS site more often!
